"My fiancée reported a leak in her kitchen drain pipe more than seven weeks ago and immediately contacted her State Farm agent, Alex. Since then, communication with this agent has been extremely poor. He has been evasive and consistently unreachable, and almost all correspondence has been filtered through the receptionist. Despite multiple attempts to speak with him directly, my fiancée received no meaningful updates for weeks.
The claim was eventually denied by the adjuster, whose report contained inaccurate and unsupported statements—specifically, false claims about mold on the cabinets and kick plate. These fabrications appeared to be an attempt to justify the denial rather than an honest assessment. Throughout this process, no one at State Farm provided clear explanations or timely communication.
After contacting the agent again on Monday, then on Thursday, November 20th, my fiancée finally received a call back on Friday the 21st—only to be told that he was “finished” with the claim and that she needed to deal with other departments within State Farm. In other words, the responsibility was simply passed along with no accountability.
From the beginning, when the leak was visible from the outside foundation, I recommended she contact her State Farm agent. What followed was a stressful and unnecessarily difficult ordeal. When we eventually contacted a contractor after weeks of delays from State Farm, even the contractor rolled their eyes when they heard we were dealing with this insurance company.
The unavailability, lack of support, and dismissive attitude from this agent have been unacceptable. Meanwhile, the kitchen has been torn apart for nearly two months with no resolution and no meaningful assistance from the very company we pay substantial premiums to each year. It is incredibly disappointing to see the difference between State Farm’s advertising and the reality of their customer service.
We have phone logs and emails documenting the agent’s lack of response and failure to communicate. No customer should have to endure this level of frustration or indifference—especially during a claim that directly affects their home and daily life.
In short, the experience with this agent and with State Farm has been unprofessional, unhelpful, and deeply disappointing.
